Introduction

Lanzhou Jiaotong University (LZJTU) was established in 1958.The University currently employs 1,912 educational professionals including 1,095 teachers. Among the teachers there are 116 full professors, 246 associate professors, 65 doctoral recipients and 435 master's recipients. The University's current enrollment totals 16,600 full-time undergraduate students, 1,600 graduate students, and more than 9,700 participants in adult education courses. There are a total of 60 undergraduate majors, all of which are entitled to confer Bachelor's Degrees upon completion of regular four or five years programs. Additionally, 64 majors are entitled to confer Master's Degrees and Doctor's Degrees are offered by 12 of these majors.

Brief of International Cooperation & Exchange Office

The International Cooperation & Exchange Office is responsible for Lanzhou Jiaotong University's (LZJTU) international relations by attending to a broad range of responsibilities including: recruiting and employing foreign teachers & experts; facilitating academic exchange and international conferences; overseeing foreign visits to the University; recruiting international students; receiving scholars and visiting professors to the University; assisting the travel of teaching and administrative staff going abroad on official university business; keeping contact information and relations with foreign universities; and attending to affairs identified by the University president.

Location

The university is located in Anning district, about 20 minutes away from the centre of Lanzhou, the provincial capital of Gansu province.

There are currently thirteen foreign teachers working for Lanzhou Jiaotong University, the majority for the English department, but some are positioned with the economics department, and yet more are involved with post-graduates and environmental programmers.

Job Required

Above Bachelor degree; native speaker; TEFTL holder and teaching experience first condition. This full time job offer is from September 2008 to July 2009.

 

Treatment

The following information hopefully would be helpful for your decision-making, we'd like to introduce you the main contents of the contract we possibly will sign:

  1.  Working as a foreign teacher or as a foreign expert at Lanzhou Jiaotong University, one shall fulfill 14-16 hours of classroom teaching each week.
  2. On the basis of being invited as a foreign teacher or a foreign expert at LZJTU and the period of service is over one (academic) year, we will pay your monthly salary (coincident by your status ). And you will receive a travel allowance of RMB 1,400 given by the University. Additionally, during the winter vacation of academic years, you will still receive 100% of monthly salary.
  3. As for the accommodation, the foreign teacher at LZJTU will be provided a free self-contained, fully furnished one-bedroom apartment with private bathroom, kitchen, computer, printer, television set, washing machine, microwave oven, refrigerator, facilities for heating and cooling,etc. The University will provide the Internet connection and the monthly rent of the telephone equipped in the apartment.
  4. In addition, on the basis of working over one academic year, you will be provided round-trip railway tickets between Lanzhou and Beijing and an economy class international one-way (as a foreign teacher) or rounder-way (as a foreign expert) air tickets between Beijing and home. 
  5. We will be responsible for your first time residence permit fee.
