Introduction

Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) was founded in 1923. It is a multi-disciplinary university including social science and natural science majors. Focusing on economics and management, JUFE also includes disciplines in law, engineering, humanity, and natural science, agriculture, education, philosophy, history etc.

As funded by the Ministry of Finance of China and the Provincial government, JUFE can offer you a wealth of facilities that will help you make the most of your time here. JUFE's objective is to train the person who has the characteristics of fidelity, excellence, integrity and dedication.

The university has 18 schools. Until now it has established 51 undergraduate programs and 52 master degree programs, 6 doctoral degree programs and 1 post-doctoral program.

The University is entitled to enroll its students all over China and has a total body of more than 30,947 students, among which 22,966 are full-time students, including doctoral students, postgraduates and overseas students, and 8,014 adult-education students. Globalization of higher education and academic activities has been one of the goals for the university's development in coming years.

The University has a teaching staff of 2153, including 173 professors,324 associate professors and 53 doctoral supervisors.

The natural and cultural environment of JUFE

JUFE is located in Nanchang, capital city of Jiangxi Province in the central China , a city which has a history of more than two thousand years. The city was named in the meaning of "a prosperous place in the south of China" and built in Han Dynasty. The long history gives this city more than 78 places of cultural heritages, including Tengwang Pavilion, Bada-shanren, Bayi Revolution Memory Monument. Nanchang also boasts for its 26 natural scenery. Start from JUFE and not more than one day's driving, there are lots of world famous touring places. Within 100 kilometers of JUFE is located the world cultural heritage of Lu-shan, the biggest fresh water lake of China-Poyang lake. Within 200 kilometers of JUFE, located Long-Hu Shan, Jin-gang-shan. Within 300 kilometers there is the most beautiful natural scenery in China San-Qing-shan.

Nanchang is belong to subtropical humid monsoonal climate. Average temperature is 17.5'C in spring,28.2'C in summer,20'C in autumn and 6.3'C in winter.

Why JUFE need more foreign teachers and the service period

  • To facilitate the expansion of the University's connections with global academic and educational community, and to meet the ever-expanding need of our increasing student enrolment, the university is in need of more native English speakers to teach the English language courses.
  • Service of foreign teachers are based on a working contract. A one-year working contract consists of two semesters, each semester lasting for about 16 weeks. The spring semester usually starts at the end of February, and ends at the end of June, the Fall Semester starts at the beginning of September and ends at the end of January.

Basic Requirements

  1. Native English speakers;
  2. Good health condition;
  3. Personality: A passion for teaching, dedication to students; Interest in Chinese culture and language; Easygoing, Friendly manner; Open-minded with good interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree or above in any discipline. However, an English or Education degree is preferable.
  2. ESL, TEFL, or TESOL certificate holder preferably with a minimum of one year experience;
  3. Degree with working experience in any area is desired;
  4. Experiences in managing large classes (say 50 students);
  5. Not older than 60 years.

Working hours and courses

  • Working contract: at least working for one semester
  • Working hours per week: 16 hours, extra hours will have extra payment
  • Possible courses: Four basic subjects (speaking, listening, reading & writing) for students at levels of undergraduate, post-graduate and English linguistics & literature for the English major. Range of students is from intermediate or pre-advanced level.

  1. Monthly salary: RMB 4,800 for Bachelor Degree holder; RMB 5,000 for Master's Degree holder and RMB 5,500 for Doctor's Degree holder
