They will appear professional (if you catch them on the right day) and then slowly youwill learn what an incompetent, money grabbing bunch of lying no good scoundrels they are. They do not pay salaries easily..Each month is a fight. Then comes the deductions and the blaming..they will do anything to not pay you. They will not do anything to put right anything that is not right with your apartment. They are crooks basically. Avoid, avoid, or peril at their hands.

Avoid AIEEC (Australian International Edicational Exchange Centre) like the plague. They took two months to get me an aprtment, have still not put a telephone in it after an extra six weeks, have still not processed my green card, have consistently lied and given their teachers an endless stream of disinformation, have constantly introduced arbitrary and stupid changes to scheduling and work hours without notice, and have generally deported themselves with a maximum of managerial ineptitude and a minimum of scruples and integrity.

The truth is you will be working for a pitance. Asked to work extra hours, sometimes without pay and at the end of your contract you won't even get a thank you for flying the George cross.

Please Note. This message is for teachers own safety and security if you are thinking about heading to China. Beware of an outfit called CANADIAN FOUNDATION for INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION.
They are total scammers. They will promise you a job and ask you to send all your credentials including your passport.Once they have got all they can duplicate, you will not hear from them again.the job position they advertised is alledgely in Nanning, Quangxi Province but in that particular province the foreign affairs and only the foreign affairs can do the hiring. This has been confirmed in writing. So beware of these Paul Adler and David Bain types.

There has been a great deal of negative treatment of this business on many forums, particularly Dave's ESL Caf¨¦. Since I do not play in Dave's sandbox, with all of those spoiled brats, I would like to have my say on Delter/Telfort here.

Delter will e-mail you and say they have openings in Shanghai / Beijing. Then after you've bought your non-refundable airfare, you will receive an e-mail saying they have an immediate need in another city; the agreed upon city no longer has any vacancies.

They don't pay you ontime, even if its only 100rmb, and they expect you to "help" them with no pay. This school has so much money that is mis-directed towards the Managers rather than the students who generally are very nice.. They will make you sign a contract, but only use it for their purpose, and expect you to work everyday but maybe "only for a couple of hours".

May people who come to China can't bear the place and take o before their contract ends or ASAP thereafter. I personally find myself drawn straight back to the place every time I leave.
