Title: BEWARE OF Chongqing Foreign Language School
|
Author: Kyle Wright <kylewright2001(at)hotmail.com>
I worked at this school for a week. They lied to me about where I was going to be living and working before I arrived to China. They also lied to me about the salary and gave me less than they had agreed to. Many teachers have quit working for this school and I urge you to. I WANTED TO LEAVE THE SCHOOL AFTER ONE WEEK BUT THEY WOULD NOT LET ME TAKE MY LUGGAGE THAT I HAD BROUGHT WITH ME. ALSO, they only paid me for half the hours I had worked that week. Don't work for this school. They go by 2 names either: Chongqing United Foreign Language School or Chongqing Foreign Language School.

Well, I got my airfare late, and before I received it, Simon sent me an email saying that it would only include airfare through May. Obviously I hit the roof! I went through XXXXXX and got that sorted out, but when I received my payment WIEC had deducted about 500RMB for meals at Luxian and non-existent repairs to the apartment there.
Again, I went ballistic, and basically told them that if they didn't pay me the full reimbursement within 7 days I was going to leave. Simon got ahold of me three days later telling me that there was nothing that he could do. I calmly said, "Okay," and informed him that we would be out of the apartment in three days. Simon thought I was overreactingĦGET REAL!

Title: Complaint Against Wancheng International - Chongqing
|
Author: nadya shore <nadya_shore(at)yahoo.ca>
I, too, have many, many complaints against the company. They accused me of breaching the contract to avoid paying me wages according to the contract.
Anyone who is recruited by Wencheng is completely at the mercy of the company. This company is concerned with making money--not in education. They claim to be non-profit but this is a total falsehood. They make huge profits.
When I went to the Canadian Embassy in Chongqing upon arrival in China, I told them I was recruited by Wencheng. They told me that they had a lot of complaints about the company and that I should be very careful.
Wencheng is a very big and powerful company. I'm sure they think there is no one that can do anything to them.

1 Breach of contract - failure to repay traveling expenses
2 Breach of contract - failure to pay airfare allowance of 1000 RMB per month
3 Deducting an unbelievably expensive electricity bill from my final pay and refusing to show me the actual electricity account
4 Failure to provide a 'confirmation of conclusion of employment' letter which is required to be given by a foreigner to the Foreign Affairs Office when applying for a new 'work permit' (Foreigner Residence Permit).
