Shipping to China
I have recently moved to China and enjoying it very much. What I want to say to others who are moving here with more than a suitcase is please check out the shipping costs first. My shipment was paid to go to my destination(just 5mins from where I work). However, it went to Hongkong, unloaded & the problems started. No bill of laden, no permit of entry, no fumigation certificate(which should have been done by the shippers) & on & on it went. Then customs informed me I couldn't bring my personal posessions into China!!! To cut it short,I have had to pay nearly 3 times as much again to get my belongings for which I have already paid once!I had to start the process again with shippers in Hongkong.
So I thought I would pass this on so others don't have the horrendous costs I have just had. Thank you.
