Warning- Walton School, Guangdong

Just a warning to any teachers considering working at Walton Foreign Languages Centre in Huadu: DON'T. Why, you ask? Here are some reasons: -although your contract specifies that you only have to work 20 hrs per week, you will be scheduled for more without prior notice. -although your contract states that you will be paid overtime for working more than 20 hrs per week, the boss will do and say anything to avoid paying you. -you will receive a lower salary for the first month 'for training' but you will receive no training and very little direction. -you will have new classes sprung on you at the last possible moment. -you will be forced to live in a small dorm near a mosquito infested river. -you will work for a boss who cares more about the bottom line and looking good for government officials than the quality of teaching. -you will work for a boss who treats her employees like subhuman slaves. -you will work for a boss who is despised by everyone she employs. -you will work for a boss who has fought about finances with every foreign teacher  prior to them leaving Walton. -you will work for a boss who believes that every personal possession a foreign teacher leaves behind, from magazines to televisions, automatically becomes Walton property. -you will work for a boss who believes in the theory of 'divide and conqueor' and will tell you nasty lies about other teachers behind their back and vice versa.
