| Breaking contracts and words | ||
| This is aggravating. Some Chinese schools now use their foreign teachers to advertise lucrative job ads on the internet to satisfy the demand. Once there, they will break every promise written in the contract. This is true of summer and winter camp positions, so please make sure you know who you're dealing with. My experience was with this white guy (don't think disclosing nationalities would be such a good idea) who offered a 20 day job, 6 hours a day for 100yuan/hour. Turned out, the job was only for 10 days, 4 hours a day, and on pay day, I had to virtually fight it out of them. I don't want to name them, but beware the schools in Laiwu and Xintai in Shandong province. The perp will use different e-mail addresses or names. Just be careful when you deal with the above two locations in Shandong. Also, a similar incident with CUFLI in Chongqing. The foreign guy promised me a summer job ut he did not know WHO was in charge of the salary and conditions. He had to ask someone who would ask someone else and so would the list go. Just before you set out, do your homework and make sure the people are honest with you. The Mad Scientist, to_goldenleaf@yahoo.com |
