Taiyuan Schools Questionable at Best
- pays on-time and in the correct amount
- usually loaded with OT
- have to hound for the government documents, but if you do that, they'll return your passport, residence permit, and foreign experts certificate to you after 3 weeks
- high Chinese staff turnover because the boss tends not to treat the Chinese staff and teachers very well
- lots of parties
- work during the holidays (he's stingy about that, but it's negotiable)
- believe it only when you see it
- only hires North Americans
- arranges day-time jobs which are not legal
- often breaks clauses in contracts when not convenient without consulting you at all, this happened numerous times which is what caused us to mutually agree that I me employment there should end
- apartments on the bad side of the river without transportation costs being covered, which will run up to 300RMB per month just for getting to/from the school, let alone if you want to do anything
- the boss is weird in the sense where he likes to get into a position where he could hurt you (in the sense of screwing you over) and then not doing that to appear to be the good guy
- most teachers are asked to sign various documents for the boss, a few with names other than your own
