Working for B***** T******* T*********** of China
Dear Website Readers

Since this website is mainly read by teachers looking for advice on which schools and companies they should or should not choose to work for, I’d like to address a series of questions and comments directly to them based on my own experiences.

1) Would you like to lose a whole year of your personal income and get nothing in return? If so, then you should work for B*** C*******, the president of B***** T******* T*********** based in Shanghai, China.
2) Would you like to spend a whole year living on nothing but white rice and instant noodles, then watch while your boss goes out and buys a private yacht for his weekend sailing trips? If so, then you should work for B*** C*******, the president of B***** T******* T*********** based in Shanghai, China.
3) Would you like to spend three years patiently waiting for your former boss to pay you the back salary and commissions he owes you, and then have him joyfully tell the whole world that you are a ‘loser’ because he has succeeded in refusing to pay you? If so, then you should work for B*** C*******, the president of B***** T******* T*********** based in Shanghai, China.
4) Would you like to generate tens of thousands of Renminbi worth of sales revenue for a company and then have your boss tell you that the company has no money to pay you your salary or commissions? If so, then you should work for B*** C*******, the president of B***** T******* T*********** based in Shanghai, China.
5) Would you like to create course content, products and services for a company that is able to successfully sell them to multinational clients such as ATT and then not get paid any salary or commissions for it? If so, then you should work for B*** C*******, the president of B***** T******* T*********** based in Shanghai, China.
6) Would you like to work for a boss who consistently can not remember what he said to you the day before? If so, then you should work for B*** C*******, the president of B***** T******* T*********** based in Shanghai, China.
7) Would you like to work for a boss who enjoys playing the game of denying his employees their salaries? If so, then you should work for B*** C*******, the president of B***** T******* T*********** based in Shanghai, China.
8) Would you like to work for a boss who will deny you your back salary and commissions for three years and then engage in a public smear campaign of false accusations to discredit your claims? If so, then you should work for B*** C*******, the president of B***** T******* T*********** based in Shanghai, China.
9) Would you like to work for a man who was never a certified teacher, has no experience as an academic manager other than being the self-appointed president of his company, and has absolutely no academic credentials in the language training field? If so, then you should work for B*** C*******, the president of B***** T******* T*********** based in Shanghai, China.
10) Would you like to work for a man who has admitted that he has no training in finance, and whose university career included absolutely no business courses? If so, then you should work for B*** C*******, the president of B***** T******* T*********** based in Shanghai, China.
11) Would you like to work for a man who divorced his Japanese wife and married a Chinese wife simply because he thought this would help advance his business? If so, then you should work for B*** C*******, the president of B***** T******* T*********** based in Shanghai, China.
12) Would you like to work for a man who falsely claims he founded the Shanghai Yacht Club, when he did not? If so, then you should work for B*** C*******, the president of B***** T******* T*********** based in Shanghai, China.

All of the above situations in fact happened while I worked for Mr. B*** C*******, president of B***** T******* T***********, during the period 2001-2002, and during the three years I have spent since then trying to simply get paid what I was owed.

After three years of patiently waiting for Mr. C******* to pay me, watching while he bragged in the news media about buying his private yacht and sailing it around Shanghai’s lakes on the weekends, I finally resorted to using websites such as this one as a means of getting what I was owed. In response, Mr. C******* has launched a public smear campaign of lies against me and my reputation, claiming that I have ‘lost’ certain jobs at other companies when he was in no position to know the details, and claiming that I am supposedly a ‘loser’, despite my many impressive accomplishments which far exceed his own.

Who am I? I’m an experienced academic manager and teacher who spent a year of his life working for Mr. C******* and did not get paid. During that time I did an excellent job for him, successfully recruited many teachers, and brought to BT* many new multinational clients such as Philips, Nabisco, Unilever and Ericsson. In fact the sales revenue that I generated for BT* from sales made in three different cities in Eastern China, combined with my unpaid salary, undoubtedly kept B***** T******* T*********** alive during a time when it had no investors and no working capital.

Unlike Mr. C*******, I am a certified teacher of English as a foreign language. I hold a TEFL certificate from one of the top teacher training programs in the U.S. My credentials are real.

During my seven years in China I not only helped Mr. C******* start BT*, but I have also served as national academic program manager for all of China, school Director, and corporate training Director for a number of other well respected schools and training companies in China. It’s safe to say that I am extremely well respected within the language training industry in China. I am constantly approached by new start up schools and training companies, as well as existing schools and training companies, seeking my help and advice. Mr. C******* is merely the self-appointed president of his own company. He does not have the academic credentials to even be hired as a Director of Studies for English First, whereas I do. My words are truthful, honest, and accurate, whereas his are mere attempts to hide the truth and change the subject. Although not all of my other work experiences in China have been completely satisfactory to me, at least I can say that every other employer paid me my salary and commissions according to a fairly reasonable interpretation of my contract.

In addition, I have written and published four books about China with several real publishers overseas, unlike Mr. C*******'s textbooks which he has had to self-publish himself, like some kind of loser who can only get published through a vanity press such as Vantage. My books, published by real publishers, have been extremely well received by the news media, and have gained rave book reviews in a wide range of respected magazines and publications.

In short, my professional credentials, my reputation and my accomplishments are quite solid, real, and impervious to Mr. C*******'s frantic attempts to falsely paint me as a disreputable source of information about him, and to smear me with lies. The truth shall prevail.

Mr. C******* is not even apologetic about the fact that he has delayed my salary and commissions by three years. He feels no remorse or guilt about it all. In fact, he seems to relish and enjoy it as if it were some kind of a game. Is this the kind of man you want to work for? You be the judge.
