Capital Language School, Zhongshan, Guangdong-Flora Xu & Damon
In order to visit the country I was born and had never seen the beauties of it, I had managed to have taught in several Universities in Hunan, Guangdong, Sichuan, Liaoning, Jianxiin the past 6 years. Last year, Capital invited me all the way from Canada to Zhongshan. I told them that teaching children was not my specialty. I prefer Adults and Senior High. They insisted that they would satisfy me. In a rush, there was no vacancy to Hongkong, I booked a flight to Shanghai on Aug. 9, 2004, and then took a train to Guangzhou. In less than a month, they told me that they prefer "White", and since my English was good enough for them, they would only pay me to the highest scale no more than RMB 3000 that a Chinese teacher would get, and they would like me to do some administrative work also, to which I refused. At the end, they paid me only a little more than 1000 for the hours I had taught at little more than 46.00 per period. Nothing for the overseas and domestic traveling expenses. I didn't have any place to go for all these unfair treatment. Any suggestions, please!
