| A WARNING TO PROSPECTIVE TEACHERS GOING TO CHINA | ||
| teaching in china, unless one is a volunteer, is fiscal folly. No iron rice bowl [2004-06-22, 15:36:00][ID: 759-4101] I must say that after being here in china for the last year I find it awsome. Although there are some bad companies and some dishonest people I have found some companies are great. As a teacher I make good money and although r and b does not translate to us dollars well it still is good. Expences are low and you can save most of your salary. I save over 500 us a month so why I will not become rich it is better than teaching in us. Happy american [2004-06-28, 15:48:00][ID: 759-4157] That is probably birch posting again- attacking every asian country, anything asian, any time, all the time. Fiscal folly? Teachers are aware going in that China does not pay the best. That is no secret. So those that do go do so with that foreknowledge. Not all teachers require a lot of money. Some have sufficient reserves as a back-up enabling them to teach in China for six months or a year without undue hardship. Meanwhile they are able to witness a culture different than their own. $s aren't everything [2004-08-11, 14:23:00][ID: 759-4830] Happy: R and B??? Are you really in China? Or, at least, have you been here more than about a week? English everywhere in your post….are you really teaching English to others? Have you really ever been to the USA? I′ve made decent money in China. Not enough to get rich for sure, and not enough to save much, but enough to live reasonably well and raise a child. I have no "reserves" or "backup"….what I earn is what I have. But I do OK in China. Raoul Duke [2004-08-14, 14:21:00][ID: 759-4885] |
